About Center

Former U.S. Representative Carrie P. Meek (in office 1993-2003) spearheaded efforts to create this small business incubator in Homestead, to serve South Miami-Dade County. It opened in 2003 and was renamed in her honor in 2005. The Meek Center began as a partnership between N.A.S.A a Technological Development Corporation, the city of Homestead, and Miami-Dade College - Homestead Campus.
